From Spanish to Vietnamese: that's how the new BQ phones are
Presents Vsmart, the new brand of economic smartphones that lands in the national market after selling 51% of its capital to the Asian manufacturer Vingroup
Far is the time when BQ presumed to be Marca España . The once most successful mobile brand in the country knew how to make a niche between the competitive Android market to measure yourself face to face with giants such as Samsung, Huawei or Apple. The company based in Las Rozas lived its magical year in 2015 , when it invoiced 244 million euros and obtained almost five of profit . A year later the billing fell by close to 30% , and despite the fact that in 2017 it seemed that it could rise over the sale of a million phones, the stellar moment was already unattainable and the fierce Asian competition marked the negative spiral of the multinational .
By the end of last year everything was turning around for BQ after a resounding operation with Vingroup , the largest business holding company in Vietnam, which would allow manufacturing to become in the Asian country with the resources of the Vietnamese conglomerate, instead of having to Fight as a Spanish company in China. From that acquisition was born VSmart, a new competitor that this Wednesday has made his landing in the national market with a presentation of four phones : VSmart Active 1 and the VSmart Joy 1, two models' low cost ', which will be accompanied by two versions' + ' All of them aimed at the middle range and the average / low for prices that are between 200 and 300 euros . Although the doubt after the presentation is the position of BQ after the landing of its majority partner in Spain , although it seems that it will focus on the design and development of the new devices thanks to the more than 100 Spanish engineers that Vingroup has both in Madrid and in Vietnam.
VinSmart has a production plant in the city of Hai Phong and has six production lines with the capacity to manufacture no less than five million smartphones per year .
